STRENGTHS

POINTS FOR IMPROVEMENT

  • Highly selective fishing gear with a very limited risk of bycatch
  • Low impact on habitats or the general ecosystem
  • Harvest control rules have not been defined and there is not clear evidence on how the management system limits the catch
  • Not clear MCS measures in place specific to the fishery
  • Lack of a specific management plan for the fishery
